The recommended way is to watch all markets simultaneously and choose the most active pair when an opportunity is present because the volatility constantly shifts from one market to the other. Usually EURUSD, GBPUSD, EURJPY, GBPJPY pairs are the most common active markets among the forex pairs.

As an example on a normal day the target would be on average 10 pips for EURUSD. As a general rule it’s the volatility of each individual market that decides the number of pips we are chasing.
